Happy New Year!!! I know I have not been posting enough last time so I promised to make a post on the 1st of January and here you go! Yesterday we went with friends to the centre of Helsinki to celebrate New Year. Frankly speaking, it is my first time celebrating New Year outside, the first time was in Times square in NYC in 2010. Traditionally we spent New Year at home with family at the table full of so much food and drinks. In Russia Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January according to Orthodox calendar and New Year has always been an important holiday to celebrate with family at home, then in seven days Christmas. All in all it was my second experience to celebrate outside. For 5 years living in Finland we spent New Year at my friend’s place Katya who is in the pictures with me, the post 2016 celebration is here. In 2017 Finland is celebrating 100 years and we were promised to have an unforgettble fireworks in the city center, it was told 40 000 EUR were spent on them. Surely we couldn’t miss this event and decided to go this year to the city centre.I am really happy how Mikko made the pictures! We wish you a very Happy New Year!
